Your information, handled with care

Daviesbuilt Gunstocks is a one-to-one workshop run by Tom in York, North Yorkshire. This page explains what information we collect when you get in touch, why we collect it, and the control you have over it. It is written to be read — no legalese for its own sake.

Last updated: July 2026.

Who we are

Daviesbuilt Gunstocks (Daviesbuilt Gunstocks) is the data controller for the information described here — the independent workshop responsible for deciding how it is used. We are based in York, North Yorkshire, and take commissions from across the United Kingdom. There is no public office address; enquiries reach us through the form on this website.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us through the enquiry form. That is:

  • Your name — so we can address a reply to you.
  • Email address — so we can respond to your enquiry.
  • Platform / model — the airgun or pistol the piece is for.
  • Handedness — right- or left-handed, for a correct fit.
  • Your enquiry — anything you choose to tell us about the commission.

We do not ask for, or want, any special-category data (such as health information). The website sets no cookies, and we use no advertising or third-party analytics or tracking of any kind.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use the details you send solely to reply to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to discuss and carry out your commission. Under UK GDPR our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. We never use your information to send marketing you did not ask for.

How your enquiry is delivered

The enquiry form is handled by Formspree, a form-delivery service that passes your message to us by email. Your submission is processed on their systems only to deliver it. This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages; like any web host, Cloudflare processes limited technical information (such as your IP address and standard request logs) to serve the site securely and protect it from abuse. Both are established providers acting on our behalf, and neither is permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone for marketing. The only parties who handle it are the service providers named above, and only to the extent needed to operate the website and deliver your enquiry. We may disclose information if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as it is useful — to answer you, and to keep a record of any commission we take on. When it is no longer needed, we delete it.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete your data.
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it.

To exercise any of these, just get in touch through our enquiry form and we will help. If you are ever unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and revise the date above. This is the current version.
