Your information, handled with care
Daviesbuilt Gunstocks is a one-to-one workshop run by Tom in York, North Yorkshire. This page explains what I collect when you get in touch, why I collect it, and the control you have over it. It is written to be read — no legalese for its own sake.

Who I am
I’m Tom, and Daviesbuilt Gunstocks is my workshop. I am the data controller for the information described here — the person responsible for deciding how it is used. The workshop is in York, North Yorkshire, and I take commissions from across the UK and overseas. There is no public office address; enquiries reach me through the form on this website.
What I collect
The only information I ask for is what you choose to send through the enquiry form:
- Your name — so I can address a reply to you.
- Email address — so I can respond to your enquiry.
- Platform / model — the airgun or pistol the piece is for.
- Handedness — right- or left-handed, for a correct fit.
- Your enquiry — anything you choose to tell me about the commission.
Alongside the message itself, the services that deliver and host it record standard technical details such as your IP address — see “How your enquiry reaches me” below. I never ask for special-category data (such as health information). This website sets no cookies, and I use no advertising, analytics or tracking of any kind.
Why I use it, and my lawful basis
I use what you send solely to reply to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to discuss and carry out your commission. Under UK GDPR my lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me. I never use your information to send marketing you did not ask for.
How your enquiry reaches me
The enquiry form is handled by Formspree, a form-delivery service that passes your message to me by email; it records your submission, including the IP address it was sent from, in order to deliver it and to filter spam. This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which — like any web host — processes limited technical information such as your IP address and standard request logs to serve the site securely and protect it from abuse. Both are established providers acting on my behalf, and neither is permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Who I share it with
I do not sell your data and I do not share it with anyone for marketing. The only parties who handle it are the service providers named above, and only as far as is needed to run the website and deliver your enquiry. I may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as it is useful — to answer you, and to keep a record of any commission I take on. When it is no longer needed, I delete it.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you.
- Ask me to correct anything that is inaccurate.
- Ask me to delete your data.
- Object to, or ask me to restrict, how I use it.
To exercise any of these, just get in touch through the enquiry form and I will help. If you are ever unhappy with how I have handled your data, you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab).

If I change how I handle your information, I will update this page and revise the date above. This is the current version.
